After-Before Friday: Walls Bleed
Here is my first submission to the After-Before series that Stacy Fisher, who runs the awesome and insightful blog, Visual Venturing. You can all the other entries at the AB Forum.
Post-Process
I wanted to make the original photo make cinematic to make the scene more lively and put an emphasis on the bleeding of the wall. To accomplish this, first I made a marquee around the core bleeding and boosted the feathering to make it not so noticeable of the circle. A curves layer was added to make it more cinematic and give the picture depth. I boosted the blue and greens to make to wall compliment the black on the wall more and the reds slightly to give more life to the sidewalk. I then added a vibrance layer to get a little more out of the leafs and sidewalk. The last step was to make the overall image a tad bit sharper to make it more gritty and urban to compliment the story behind the photo.
The Story
The city is alive and well and waiting, bleeding for someone to explore it. Explore as in getting the most of what the world has to offer. In regards to photography it could mean just walking around and taking time to admire the scenery. I could literally walk around my neighborhood and come home with a ton of pictures. Not all of them will be good but its all about the experience, seeing the beauty in what other might see as mundane is pretty cool feeling. I sort of feel like this wall was urging me to take a photo of it, it just needed to get my attention.
As I look at this, the crevices of the walls seems to be spewing out this mysterious stark black liquid which forms a deep puddle. Where the spewing occurs it looks as if the bricks are about to break off. Like a battle tested somebody who is hanging up the towel, and come to grips knowing what was set out, was accomplished.

Rainbow Silhouette
Dope picture my mom took a few weeks back, finally got around to editing it. Its a picture of two rainbows, one super clear and the other slightly faint, I thought it was cool how she used the techniques I was talking about in regards to taking this picture. The way my mom used the angle of view to her advantage in capturing the rainbow descending from the building and its faint silhouette from behind. So shouts out to mom for showcasing the eye, I know you’re reading.

Renegade
Look at this tree, its such a renegade, deviating from the norm. Instead of growing its leaves at the top, it wants to keep them at the bottom and leave branches bare. How dare this tree try to be an individual, how dare this tree not be like all the other normal trees. How dare this tree be an individual.
There is wisdom in this tree, I like this tree.
Traggic
Down down down on my way to Hell
Awake from the dead vault in which I dwell
These emotions inside sit unwell
Can you tell?
Unleash me from this lonely Hell
To a world of bad with a glimmer of good
But I’m good so let me out
I’m paradoxing with a rebellious rebel mentality
Let my rebellion intrude not vicariously
Steal my shine
I can’t shine if I feel like an orphan
Neglected I’m a corroding arson
How dare you
You tell me God took 7 days and all he made was you
I dream in the heaven from the doom for which I dwell
Then woke up the next morning to realize I’m truly in Hell
Two Different Axles
Rock Bottom:
You’re at wits end with nowhere else to go, no one to turn to in times of despair, depression, no one to express you feelings to.
Rock bottom is the increasing desire to not live anymore.
Rock bottom is constant failure without learning from those mistakes.
Rock bottom is falling into a bottomless pit, continuing to scream to no avail and nobody to throw you a rope to get back up.
Standing Strong like a Rock:
Never being afraid to take on a challenge.
Standing strong is not letting any outside influence imped your progress.
Standing strong is being an individual.
Standing strong is just living life to your greatest potential and milking it for all that it is worth.
